CUSHING’S SYNDROME-(Hyperadrenocorticism)
This is a common condition seen in middle-aged and older dogs and often mistaken for the aging process.
Most common symptoms are:
- Weight gain
- Hair loss
- Chronic itching
- Obesity
- Excessive urination in the house
Generally it can be treated and one of the best natural holistic ways to treat the syndrome is with a natural raw meat diet, and start a proper detoxification program.
Again a benefit is derived from the use of natural raw meat diets a BARF diet.
And in Vet lingo:
Hyperadrenocorticism most commonly occurs due to excessive adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) output from the pituitary gland or overproduction of cortisol by an adrenocortical tumor. It can also be caused by the administration of pharmacological doses of glucocorticoids.
