I have a policy of contacting all new customers that have ordered frozen food and are having it delivered to their home. This has turned out to be a very rewarding experience for me. It gives me a chance to offer excellent customer follow-up but more importantly I find that these new raw feeders have a ton of questions and they really appreciate my call.
One of the things I uncovered this morning was the confusion that many customers have in regards to feeding the raw diet along with their favorite brand of kibble. Of course the best option is to make the full conversion to raw and eliminate the kibble but many customers, for financial reasons find it necessary to feed a combination of both. My advice is to split the feeding schedules and feed the BARF diet in the morning and the kibble at night. This is because the two different diets require different digestion cycles to utilize the nutrients properly. By splitting the feeding schedules we eliminate a lot of the gas buildup in the digestive tract.

In the FAQ section, it uses the example of kibble in the morning and raw at night:

as opposed to the blog which recommends the reverse. Does it really matter which meal the raw is? I would like to keep my dog interested in kibble only for the reason that I am not always around a refrigerator/freezer…certainly open to other suggestions (6mos GSD).
