Hello fellow animal lover,
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if your pets could talk to you…and you could understand them? Imagine being able to find out if your dog really likes his food, or his dog walker, or your other pets! This week, back by popular demand, is our article on how some people are actually able to communicate with animals and can relay messages from your pets back to you.

Is Your Pet Trying To Tell
Have you ever wondered what your pets would say to you if they could talk? Well I just recently discovered that some people can actually communicate with your beloved animal companion and tell you exactly what your pet is trying to tell you!
Renee Gallegos is a certified Animal Communicator based in Marin County, CA and has clients all over the world. I had the pleasure of speaking with her about this fascinating field of animal (and human) therapy.
Amber: What is animal communication exactly?
Renee: Animals are sentient beings – they’re conscious, feeling, knowing, receptive and responsive. Talking intuitively with animals means sending and receiving thoughts, images, emotions, pictures, and even movies – it’s passing information back and forth, mind to mind. It’s understanding their animal, helping their animal find more happiness or a need that hasn’t been met yet or training issues: “Why is my dog doing this in training class?” or “Why is the cat suddenly hiding?” It’s actually counseling people and the funny part is a lot of it has to do with the people!
Amber: How is it scientifically possible to do this?
Renee: The existence of a universal consciousness is what allows us to connect and communicate anywhere and anytime with any being. This is why I can do it with photographs and descriptions (of the animal)– they don’t have to be physically present. According to our current understanding of the universe – the physical universe – it’s made up of energy and information. So wherever there are objects there are fields of energy and information.
If you go to the fundamental levels of activity in nature you find that nature is a discontinuity, which means even though our perceptual experience of the universe is that it is continuous, in fact it is going on and off at the speed of light. We know what is in the “on” of the universe – energy and information. We use it in our technology. The deeper question is what is in the “off”, between the two “ons”, in the discontinuity.
Many people in the world of quantum physics are realizing that the discontinuity of consciousness IS consciousness itself. This is a model that has been explored by scientists in the field of neuroscience and also in the field of quantum physics.
Amber: What kinds of questions can I ask my animal?
Renee: You can ask your animals just about anything. It’s up to them if they’re willing to share – and usually they are. You can always ask your animal, “Are you happy or are you unhappy? Would you like an animal companion? Do you like the other animals in our family? Do you like your food? Do you want more exercise? Do you like your groomer, dog walker, the neighbors? Is there something or someone you’re afraid of? Why do you seem blue or depressed? Do you want a job?” or you just can ask them, “Do you have a message to share with me?”
Amber: Will my animals give away any of my personal secrets?
Renee: (Laughs) It’s so funny – a lot of people really get scared. Actually animals are very loyal to their people. They’re not going to share anything that would be embarrassing although you know, animals can be really playful and silly or serious or funny. They won’t spill the beans about anything that is sacred to their people. They know you and what is okay and what isn’t.
Amber: How did you get into the field of animal communication?
Renee: When I first moved to California back in ‘88, I started an animal care business here in Marin County. Then I sold the business because I wanted to do something else. I always felt that there was something more because I was always so close to my animals and I had so many clients and I received so many beautiful thank you notes and letters for the care of their animals and they just felt that their animals loved me.
Then I saw an article in the newspaper – it was about an animal communicator whose name was Marta Williams – and she was being interview about communicating with animals. I called her up and said, “We gotta talk. I would love to learn how to do this!” This was back in ’99 and she designed some workshops and I participated and boy did my world change!
Amber: Is this a gift that you were born with or can anyone do this?
Renee: Anybody can do this. I believe that because of my Native American ancestry I have always been a little bit more open and available to my intuition. Intuition is a gift that everyone is born with. Although we have the ability to communicate with animals, it takes willingness to want to learn and to do it and to continue to do it. It takes practice to strengthen your intuition. Just like you go to the gym and do weight training to build your muscles. It takes commitment and consistent practice. So practice, practice, practice…but yeah anyone can do it.
Amber: How does someone reach you if they want to learn more or get a consult?
Renee: I get a lot of referrals but I also have a website: www.reneegallegos.wordpress.com. I can do a consult by phone or email. I also talk to people about raw food diets and I do animal reiki. I also teach so if anyone wanted to learn how to do this, I offer classes too. I hold them in Sebastopol at the Flag Foundation - I hold workshops for animal communication, talking with horses, and equine-inspired meditation.
