Kibble does the opposite of keeping your pet’s teeth clean. Due to all of the preservatives and processed ingredients, it can cause plaque and tartar build-up. We like to compare it to eating buttery popcorn and having that feeling of a coating of film on our teeth.
The myth of the “crunch of kibble” being a benefit for pets' teeth has been around for quite some time. In reality, this is not ideal for pets, just like it is not ideal for us to chew on ice everyday. Our raw meat diets are complete and balanced and ready to serve. Not only are all of our Freeze-Dried and Frozen diets highly digestible, they are soft when thawed or reconstituted and gentle for pets' teeth. In fact, the ground bone in the BARF® Diet keeps teeth clean.
Here are some recommendations we have of alternatives to maximize your pets dental health. If you are looking for something for your pet to chew on for an extended period of time, Elk Antlers are the route to go! Once they begin to get to the marrow inside, this will provide amazing benefits to their overall dental health and keep them stimulated. Give us a call if you would like some input or suggestions on what you can do to keep your pet’s dental health in check!

What is BARF?
“BARF®” is our acronym which means “Biologically Appropriate Raw Food.” All of our diets are Complete and carefully Balanced; a proprietary blend of muscle meat, organs, bone-connector tissue, finely ground bone, fruits, veggies, vitamins and minerals.
