Raise Your Paw For Raw!
“Are they crazy?” This was my initial thought the first time I heard about feeding raw food to pets. For as long as I can remember domesticated dog food has always come in a bag or from a can. While this is true for most of us, have you ever wondered what dogs ate before commercial dog food was developed in 1860?
Raise Your Paw For Raw!
“Are they crazy?” This was my initial thought the first time I heard about feeding raw food to pets. For as long as I can remember domesticated dog food has always come in a bag or from a can. While this is true for most of us, have you ever wondered what dogs ate before commercial dog food was developed in 1860? The answer is food. Real, raw food. The kind of food that canines have been living on for the last few centuries! Yes, we are talking mostly about raw meat. What our grandparents and great-grandparents fed their dogs.
As Raw Food Specialist here at BARF® World, one of the most common question we are asked, “Is it safe to feed my dog raw meat?” This is a valid and sincere concern. The answer, yes! Your dog is actually designed to eat raw food diets. They have shorter digestive tracts and their stomachs have a much higher acidity level than humans, which makes it easier for them to consume and thrive on a raw meat diet, such as the BARF® Diet.
Here are some of the benefits you'll see in your pet when you switch to the BARF Diet®:
- Tartar buildup on the teeth is eliminated, breath is improved, and your pet will have strong, beautiful teeth.
- Itchy skin conditions associated with allergies will be alleviated, and you can expect a shiny and lustrous coat.
- Chronic Diarrhea often disappears, and stool volume and odor is significantly reduced.
- Your pet’s weight will be brought into line, and it’s easy to maintain a leaner, more fit body.
- The immune system is strengthened and you’ll begin to see increased mobility in arthritic pets.
- Your pet’s health and well-being will improve for a long and wonderful life.
- Increase energy and vitality - your pet will act like a puppy again.
“Having raised animals on commercial pet food, and now, having raised animals on raw meat, there’s no comparison,” says Celeste Yarnall, a pet nutrition specialist and author of Natural Cat Care, and 1998’s Natural Dog Care. “Animals who are fed an appropriate raw-meat diet are alive, they glow from whisker to tail tip. They are happy and comfortable in their skins.”
If you are still skeptical or “on the fence” about feeding your dog a raw diet, here is what our customers are saying about our BARF® World diet:
I brought my dog to the Vet several times with no improvement. Very shortly after Jaime was on BARF she started to improve. Now she is acting like a puppy again. She has her high energy back and is playing with me again. I had forgotten what she was like. The only problem is that she loves the food so much I have to give her a little at a time so she will eat slower. I wish I had tried this food sooner. - Elaine B, Plainville, CT
Dolly is our rescue. She would have mild seizures every 2 weeks or so. After being on BARF for a while, the seizures have been less frequent. We haven't had one in 6 months! They are BARFers for life. - Robin C, Advance, NC

Raw Food Tip:
The study of detoxification is not something that can be summarized in a short tip. It is a complicated process that is an essential part of the body’s metabolism, and the liver plays a key role in this process. Having an effective detoxification system is imperative for the well-being of our pets. It is basically suggested that we must minimize the ingestion of toxins and processed food. They will inhibit the healing process. By ingesting live foods, not dead processed food we can minimize and reduce unwanted health issues.
