In my previous Blog I outlined some concerns I have with the ingredient choices for dry processed food. In this blog I intend to make a comparison to the quality and sourcing of the ingredients for the BARF DIET frozen patties.

The ingredients used in our diets are all sourced from USDA processing facilities and they have all passed as suitable for human consumption. (There are a couple exceptions to this- The product has species specific bone ground up into very small particle size pieces and the tripe with stomach contents removed are not normally consumed by humans.) Both of these ingredients are basic secrets in the food. They both supply nutritional value far beyond other ingredients. The bone is a natural source of calcium and valuable minerals and the tripe (stomach), contains the needed enzymes that are life giving valuable nutrients. Our diets contain another value added bonus with the addition of Kefir . This powerful probiotic ingredient provides a helpful way to build up the intestinal flora in the gut. It is much more effective than yogurt in providing the most adequate digestive aid.

The meat sources used in the patties are human quality, human edible, meat and organ products that have been passed as USDA products and could be consumed in the human food chain. The veggies and fruit used in the diets are sourced from farms that supply fresh produce for the human food markets. It’s like your dog is eating from the same plate that you are eating from.

Many other additional ingredients are then added that supply added mineralization and vitamin content. We use organic ingredients whenever we can to assure complete quality assurance. Organic kelp, organic alfalfa, flaxseed eggs, and miscellaneous other additives are added to then make up the balance of the diet.  The end result is a mixture of the finest available sources of raw ingredients that would complement the palate of the most scrutinizing pet in the world.

Compare the contents as described above to the ingredient sources described in my last blog and you make the decision which is best for your companion pet. It’s all in the choices we make that insures longevity and vitality in the life of you and your pet.
