A Reason to Enjoy The Outdoors

Happy Labor Day! Thank you to all of our customers and blog readers for your support. We would not be where we are today without this support and hope that everyone enjoys this extra time off doing what they love. This Labor Day & National Take Your Dog Outside falls on the same day!

For most of us, Labor Day is a day to spend time with our friends and family and is an additional day off to enjoy. It also means for some of us catching up on any house projects that may have been put off for a little too long. For us animal lovers, this is also the perfect day to spend with our pets as we wind down from the busy summer.

Since Labor Day also happens to be National Take Your Dog Outside Day, here are some fun outdoor activities that can be both enjoyable for yourself and your pet for the extra long weekend.

Hiking
Camping
Beach / lake day
Go to the dog park
Play in the yard with some of their favorite toys
Scavenger hunt with your pet’s favorite BARF treats

It is important to remember that while these outdoor activities are a fun way to enjoy the nice weather, there are still measures that should be taken to protect not only yourself, but your pet. One of the most important things to remember is to always have clean drinking water and find a shaded area to decompress. This will help prevent dehydration or overheating for both you and your pet.

A great tip to keep your pet from overheating and becoming dehydrated, is to switch over to a raw meat diet. Our frozen products contain a high moisture content, and once reconstituted, so does our freeze-dried. This will ensure that they are getting plenty of moisture and keep them feeling happy and healthy!
